Association of the Friends of the University
The Association was founded in 1982. Chairman is former county supervisor Klaus Brodbeck and his deputy is retired professor Roland Geitmann. Contact persons are also Rector Witt und Vice-Rector Martens as well as Johannes Fien in Administrative Services.
What do we do?
We foster the contact between the University and its graduates and, in so doing, the dialogue between theory and practice, which is so important and valuable for both sides. We sponsor the University Days and provide opportunities for further and continuing education.
We support University initiatives to enhance the reputation of the non-technical management level in public service with the goal of making clear to the general public, and especially to those holding political office, the significance of our profession for ensuring an efficient and well-managed public administration.
We support the reform of the program of study for the management level of public administration with the goal of ensuring the quality of the University of Public Administration so that the training program will meet the requirements of administrative bodies in the years to come.
We continue to make efforts to acquire further members with the goal of enlarging and strengthening the Kehl alumni community.
We partially finance two issues of the University magazine KLARTEXT, which all members receive free of charge. We now have an annual budget of more than 30,000 euros, which is used solely for those tasks set down in our bylaws.
Why haven’t you become a member yet?
We are looking forward to adding even more members to the approximately 1,100 current members (in addition to alumni, also teachers as well as towns, cities and counties) so that the purpose of our association can be fulfilled as effectively as possible, and alumni can maintain ties to "their" Kehl University.
So, remember: "For at least 15 € you can be a member."
